Protecting Your Scalp From the Sun

Sun damage is possible on any exposed area of your skin even your scalp. Many people do not realize or even think about their scalp getting sun burnt. A sunburn may not always occur but harmful UVA and UVB rays are penetrating your scalp anytime you are in the sun for a prolonged amount of time. You may think that if you have long hair your scalp is protected but you are mistaken because longer hair is actually worse when it comes to blocking the sun from your scalp. Longer hair weighs more and leaves more scalp exposed at your part. There are ways to help reduce sun damage to your scalp such as wearing a hat or using scalp sunscreen.

Nioxin’s new product Nioxin Scalp Guard Sunblock SPF 20 is a perfect edition to everyone’s beach bag. This product should be added to your daily ritual before going swimming, hiking, working, or any other outdoor activity. The sunblock is a clear fine mist that can be used on your scalp as well as any sensitive skin areas.
