Bedtime Tips!

It’s night time and you’ve washed your face, applied your favorite nighttime moisturizer, brushed your teeth, rinsed with Listerine and slipped into your favorite pair of pj’s.

You’re almost ready for bed, but what have you forgotten about? Your hair!

Did you know your hair can benefit from a little before-bed pampering? Think about it – if you blow-dry, straight-iron, or curl your hair daily, and have your hair colored or highlighted, your hair might be in need of some attention before you call it a night.

Use these tips to keep your hair looking gorgeous:

Swap your cotton pillowcase for a satin one. Cotton pillowcases actually grip your hair and can cause annoying (and sometimes painful) tangles. Also, cotton removes oils from your scalp, which causes drying and brittleness to your hair.

If you have medium-to-long hair, tie it back, braid it, or wrap your head in a silk scarf before bed. Then if you toss and turn, you limit the amount of movement and subsequent damage, and you get to skip the detangling session in the morning.

Apply almond or jojoba oil to your hair before bed. Wrap your hair in a towel or satin scarf overnight, then shampoo and condition in the morning. This will help bring back softness and luster!

Brush or comb through your hair from back to front. Simply bend forward at the waist and let your head come forward. This technique will remove any dirt and pollutants as well as stimulate circulation, increase natural oils in your scalp, and minimize any overnight tangling.

Give it a try – keep your hair looking luscious!
